QUIZ: How well do you know your ATP Finals?

Posted Noviembre 12, 2017

Six-time champion Roger Federer was paired in the same group as German debutante Alexander Zverev for next week's ATP Tour Finals when the draw was made in host city London on Wednesday.

The future of the sport has been playing out this week in the Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan, both in terms of the young players on court and the rule changes being tried out. Unfortunately, though, at some point we're going to have to say goodbye to someone who has been so great for the game.

"If nothing happens, then I will play. There are positives and negatives to it but I don't want to see anything change on the Tour that much to be honest".

Nadal was forced to pull out of the Paris Masters last month with the knee injury but London tournament organisers, as well as fans with tickets, will be praying the world's top tennis player will be healthy enough to feature. It will certainly be a fitting send-off if Nadal wins the title to wrap up Uncle Toni's illustrious coaching career with a win in London.

Inside the glistening new World Trade Center transportation hub in downtown Manhattan, thousands of commuters and shoppers stream through the slick mall daily. Someone who didn't expect to be here can be a real threat, and he certainly has the weapons to do lots of damage on this indoor surface.

Some had questioned whether Federer, at an advanced age in sporting terms, and Nadal, with his catalogue of injuries, could peak again, but they did in 2017.

"All the things that you can try, I welcome", the Spaniard said on Friday, ahead of the ATP Finals. World number one player is pitted in a group, which includes Dimitrov, Dominic Thiem and Goffin.

However Nadal admits he's wary of the prospect of having to play Federer, who is 4-0 against Nadal this year, and has won their last five meetings. He's said he wants to keep going and going. Dimitrov also reached the Australian Open semi-finals.

"We hope that would address some of the issues we had in this year's Championships with players going on court when they were carrying injury".

'The more matches you win, the higher you will be in the rankings.

Cilic's one trophy of the year came in Istanbul, where he defeated Milos Raonic. It was a surprise for him and us as well.

"I thoroughly enjoy doubles, everyone knows that", Sock said. Winning a Grand Slam while only losing three games in a set is unbelievable. That'll be a great experience for him.

"We need to think and take it seriously", Federer said during a news conference in London.

Any rule changes agreed to by the Grand Slam board may not be immediately communicated, with detail and wording needing to be finalized and various bodies due to be informed before the public.
