Dana White: Conor McGregor could fight at UFC 219

I thought maybe his conditioning wasn't quite what we used to see. It's still early. We're still working on it. I've got to get my stuff together, but i'm into boxing, man. It's coming.

White previously spoke about getting into boxing, especially after he was seen wearing "Zuffa Boxing" t-shirts during the promotional tour for Mayweather vs. McGregor.

And as the next show in Sin City is UFC 219 in December and still without a headline fight, McGregor could be providing some festive cheer to his millions of fans wordwide.

There is no timetable for GSP to return to the Octagon at this time and the interim middleweight champion is happy to wait for him. Even though he was stopped by technical knockout in the tenth round of that battle, he's never been stopped via knockout in mixed martial arts.

McGregor and Ferguson's agent, Audie Attar, didn't immediately return messages left for him by The Times on Wednesday morning, but White dropped a few hints that could indicate McGregor lands on Dec. 30.

"I love a true fight with elbows, knees, and bone", said McGregor emphatically.

McGregor then took time out of the ring as he was becoming a father for the first time, before his billion-dollar boxing match against Floyd Mayweather.

The Notorious, as he's known, is the only UFC fighter to hold titles in two separate weight classes at the same time. That's the way it is.

White also hedged on the idea that a women's featherweight title fight between Orange County's champion Cris "Cyborg" Justino and former bantamweight champion Holly Holm would be placed atop the UFC 219 card. Do you think that Bisping will get a rematch with the Canadian champion?

The idea is now much closer to becoming a reality as White told the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday he's "getting into boxing, 100 percent" and is in the process of obtaining a promoter's license. I think that the guys who are involved with boxing, the fighters, would enjoy being under this umbrella and fighting for us.
