FC Qarabag gets second UEFA Champions League Group point

Atletico Madrid are on the brink of an early exit from the Champions League after 10-man Qarabag battled to a 1-1 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano on Tuesday. The substitutes, notably Lucas Vázquez and Asensio seem disillusioned for some reason despite enough positive displays to warrant a run in the first-team in place of the stuttering "BBC".

Atletico temporarily recovered as Thomas Partey cancelled out Michel's shock opener 11 minutes into the second half but, even when the opposition were reduced to 10 men shortly after, they could not find a winner. These two sides met each other only one time and that match too ended in a draw. It will be interesting how to see how Zidane resolves his first real crisis on the Bernabéu bench.

Diego Simeone is confident his Atletico Madrid players can emerge from a low-key start to the season with just five wins in 14 matches.

Pedro Henrique in particular was proving a menace, going down inside the box under minimal contact from Juanfran and then forcing Jan Oblak into a routine save from range.

Gameiro screwed his next shot across the face of goal and a stretching Godin headed over the bar as opportunities continued to go begging.

Atletico's players, who trained at their former Vicente Calderon home on the eve of this match, emerged for the second half well before their opponents. It was yet another goal that the Spanish side have conceded following a cross into their penalty area this season.

Victory for Roma over Chelsea elsewhere in Group C leaves the three-time runners-up third in the standings, four points adrift of the Blues and five off the leaders with two games - against the two sides above them - to come.
